On teachers day, Mobile tutor pvt. ltd a Chennai based software company gave demonstration for its software M-tutor (a mobile application) in the presence of Vice Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Senior managing director of this company Mr. Senthil Kumar provide tablets to all the teachers of UIET for demonstration purpose. In his presentation he introduced that how this software will be helpful for the students of UIET. Students will be able to access their curriculum related animated lectures on the single click of this mobile application. Vice-Chancellor appreciated this contribution of the UIET in the digitization of Kurukshetra University.

Blood Donation Camp at UIET,KUK
A blood donation camp was organized by Youth Red Cross Society, UIET, KUK on 4th Sept,2015. Registrar of the University inaugurated this camp and motivate to the donors. Students and staff contributed 111 blood units in this camp. Dr. Ashwani Umath from Cygnus hospital give a guest lecture regarding various myths in blood donation. Convener of the camp Mr. Sanjeev Ahuja,did special thanks to all the donors and authorities for making this event a big success.
First Position in District Level Science Quiz competition sponsored by HSCST
Once again student of UIET, KUK showed their potential and got first position in district level science quiz competition organized at University College, Kukukshetra on 28th August 2015, sponsored by Haryana State Counsel of Science and Technology (HSCST). Pankaj Kaushik, Manish Kaushik and Nitin Goel, the same students have already won one lac rupee prize in science quiz competition organized by HSCST last year. Dr. Urmila was the teacher incharge for this event.

British Counsel sponsored 3 days workshop on "Integrating ICT in Higher Education"
"Integrating ICT in Higher Education" a three days workshop (Sponsored by British Council of India) have been organized by SNDT Women's University, Mumbai (Department of Educational Technology) in collaboration with Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra at UIET, KUK from 10-12, August 2015.
Participants from various departments and universities got an insight to the various concepts of ICT along with creating and sharing learning resources and communities like Google Calendar, Google Maps, Drop Box, Google Drive, Blogs, Wiki-space, Skype, Moodle etc. Renowned and learned resource persons Prof. Jai Shree Shinde & Prof. Nitin Wani took the various sessions in this workshop.
On the valedictory of this workshop, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Anil Vohra expressed his views about the importance of integrating ICT in higher education. Director, UIET Prof. Sunil Dhingra also stated that in today's dynamic scenario adaptation of technological innovations has become an integral part in learning process and imparting qualitative education to the students. Learning ICT tools and techniques enables teachers to create and disseminate learning resources and thus initiating a collaborative and cooperative teaching learning strategies. Prof. Dhingra also stated that such kind of workshop uplift the teaching and research standard of the Institute.

Accessibility/facility in terms of Payment Gateway for UIET students
Students of UIET, KUK will be happy to know that from
04-Aug-2015 UIET started its own Online Payment Gateway to facilitate the
students in terms of their fee submission. Administration took
this healthy step to reduce the wastage of students’ precise time instead standing
in long bank queues for submitting their dues.

UIET, KUK felicitates its UPSC Achievers
In a grand ceremony organised at UIET,KU, the Vice-Chancellor Dr. D.D.S. Sandhu honored Ms. Vandana Roa, Ms. Deepshikha Sharma (former students of UIET) and Mr. Sandeep Malik (former student of University College) who have qualified the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Exam and attained 4th , 33rd and 104th ranks respectively.
UIET goes Digital
UIET KUK took a step ahead towards Digitization as it exchanged an MOU with M-Tutor Pvt. Ltd. to ensure a 24* 7 accessibility to virtual classrooms for its students at an event organised here on 02.07.2015. Also, the various systems and processes in the institute will be digitized under a pilot project in collaboration with TCS. The event also witnessed distribution of laptops to the faculty members of the institute by the Vice-Chancellor.
